Suggest Notes be taken on latest acquisition

An exciting middle-distance three-year-old has emerged by the name of Notes. He has been identified as a youngster capable of featuring in 3yo races before progressing into a superior aged horse.

Closely related on both the dam and sire sides to Group 1 winner Princess Jenni, Notes appears to have similar racing characteristics. Certainly, in his only two race starts, he seems a horse endowed with the qualities necessary to take him to stakes level.

In his first race start, Notes finished strongly for second, albeit to be well beaten by a filly reported to be Group 1 quality. In his second start, Notes led and dominated the field, winning by four lengths.

The critical aspect of Notes’ win was his closing sectionals. Running 22.8 seconds from the 600m to 200m, he was still able to run an 11.4 second closing 200m. This showed that he not only has speed, but the ability to sustain it. Given this performance and his pedigree, he should have no difficulty reaching 2000m and possibly further.

Notes wins at start #2 at Pukekohe Park in November.

Notes is expected to arrive into the care of Lindsey Smith at Warrnambool on December 9 with an autumn 3yo campaign on his agenda.

Take Note – this is a horse to keep an eye out for.
