Raffish

A cracking young gelding by Free Eagle, a Group 1 winning son of High Chaparral who displays all the right attributes we like to see in a young horse. Having been broken in and experienced stable life at Ballarat, Raffish progressed through his first educational preparation very well and took everything in his stride. He has now commenced a racing preparation with Archie Alexander, who is delighted with the progress he continues to show.

• Purchased at the January 2019 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sales with Guineas and Derbies in mind.
• Eligible for the Magic Millions Race Series.
• Displays the attributes one likes to see in a young horse – fluid walk, balanced conformation and a beautiful nature.
• He is expected to be at his best as a 3yo
• By Free Eagle, a Group 1 winning son of High Chaparral. A winner at 2, 3 and 4 including the Group 1 Prince of Wales Stakes at Royal Ascot. Free Eagle is the sire of recent Group 1 Epsom Derby 2^nd place getter, Khalifa Sat, highlighting the promising start he has made at stud in Europe.
• Raffish’s dam is the Anabaa mare Abazan. Abazan stems from the family of Australian and New Zealand Listed/ Group winners Pravda, Cronus, Samantha Miss and Miss Fabulass.
• Half-brother to Dreamed, 2nd in the Group 3 Auraria Stakes in April 2019.
• Archie Alexander will train Raffish from his Ballarat base. At the end of the 2018/19 season, Archie finished 15th on the Victorian Trainer Premiership and continues to have great success with OTI horses.
