Courageous Tom hopeful of taking home his Group 1 victory

So Far Sokool will be starting off our weekend runners at Moonee Valley tonight. The race is over 1541m and following her previous start,  2nd in a strong Listed race, this little filly is going into the race with good form. She has drawn well, and Archie believes the track should suit her. We are hopeful of her performance tonight with all factors working in her favour.
On Saturday, we will be heading over to Perth to see Tom Melbourne endeavouring to get his first Group 1. Chris Waller believes that he is going into the race in a better condition than his previous outing where he finished 3rd in the Group 1 Railway Stakes.  It looks to be a very competitive race but we, as always, are expecting a strong performance.
We have two runners at Pakenham on Saturday. Grey Lion will be a leading contender for the Pakenham Cup which is a Listed event over 2500m. He was unlucky in his last start in the Ballarat Cup where the track was a heavy 8. Matt Cumani believes that Grey Lion will be hard to beat.
Tucano will be making the trip over 2000m in a benchmark 78. Matt Williams is hopeful this is a good race for the colt, although he could do with another run to reach his peak fitness.
After Night’s Watch’s tough and impressive run last weekend where he screamed home from last to first on heavy ground, he will be heading to Werribee over 2000m to hopefully, make a return to the Winner’s room!
